November 27th — Halifax, NS — November has been quite the month for Halifax-based entrepreneur, mentor and CCO of WeUsThem, Faten Alshazly. Faten has been named, for a second time, Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, this year as a Trendsetter and a Trailblazer. In addition, just a week ago, Faten was also named the Female Executive of the Year in Canada by the Stevie Awards celebrating women internationally.
Faten was named the Female Executive of the Year in Canada in New York on November 16th. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honour women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.
The list of Top 100 Winners was released on November 22nd, paying tribute to the outstanding women across Canada who have advocated for diversity in the workforce, and who serve as an inspiration for the next generation of leaders. This is the second time that Faten has been recognized for this great honour.
In this past year, Faten has led all creative endeavours at WeUsThem resulting in six industry awards in various categories. With her creative excellence, projects with clients such as Telus, The Kempinski Group, Kaplan International, Global Affairs Canada and the IWK Health Centre have received multiple awards for their creative excellence such as multiple W3’s and Gold Davey’s along with a Hermes, all firsts for the east coast. Much of the company’s success in the past year is attributed to Faten’s multidimensional skills in creativity, leadership, and business savvy.
“To be named a Female Executive of the Year and one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in the same week, let alone the same year, is an incredible honour. I always try to give back to the community through volunteering for causes I am passionate about, mentorship and positive economic impact.”, said Faten Alshazly, Principal & CCO of WeUsThem, “Being recognized for my passion is both motivating and energizing. I look forward to a future that is brighter for everyone, and am proud to be part of making that happen.”
Faten changes the world through her work and dedicates her free time to mentoring, teaching and growing the community. She volunteers as a mentor for students—specifically for Women in STEM and for professionals looking to make their mark in executive positions nationally and internationally. It is this passion to give back which has had her invited by local Universities, the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations along with the President of Egypt to address the World Youth Forum, attended by 6000 delegates from over 45 countries to speak on Women in Leadership circles.
Six awards, multiple conferences with thousands of attendees from dozens of countries, hundreds of mentees and numerous organizations supported later, this executive is not slowing down anytime soon. Her impacts are felt locally, nationally and internationally as it will for time to come.
